The Skin Commandments!!!

September 14th, 2011

As an Exercise Physiologist, I don’t just measure wellness by the number on the scale. I evaluate the person as a whole. And, I expect the same of any health professional. If there’s one dermatologist in the world that can truly see beyond the skin, it’s Dr. Tony Nakhla. Understanding that it’s everything that happens beneath the skin that affects it most, Dr. Nakhla looks at habits, nutrition and lifestyle when treating his patients. The Skin Commandments is a doctrine, by one of today’s most brilliant, visionary and caring dermatologists, for all of the things we can control to have the healthiest and most beautiful skin possible.

Walnuts!!!

September 10th, 2011

Walnuts are a great source of Omega 3, vitamins, minerals and protein but did you know that just a handful of these delicious nuts can significantly reduce the risk of breast cancer in women? Researchers have found that not only does the omega 3 offer the risk reduction but also a synergistic effect between multiple nutrients provide an enormous amount of added protection…

Here’s a tip for those of you too worried about the extra calories: Pre-pack the walnuts into individual containers with 6 to 12 in each. This way you’ll be sure not to go overboard by eating multiple servings in one sitting.

More good news for Chocolate Lovers!!!

September 8th, 2011

Finally, research has been published with solid evidence demonstrating the consumption of chocolate is associated with improved heart and vascular function!!! (research done in Cambrige, England and published in the British Medical Journal). The researchers found that while diet, exercise and weight management play an important role in heart health, the  anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties of cocoa from Chocolate consumption can reduce heart disease by 1/3!!! And can also reduce the risk of a heart attach and or stroke!!!

Just be aware that commercially bought chocolate products often times are loaded with sugar and other ingredients that might not be so great for your health…

Have you tried my 22Days Vegan and Organic chocolate bars? Delicious!!!
